Good Afternoon All,
In a little while the Malifaux league will start. As of right now, fees are yet undetermined (it will be clear if there is a charge, which if used will be put towards terrain and top crew prizes that will be clearly laid out well in advance), but I wanted to make sure everyone could get prepared for it in advance. These are the current guidelines, and if any changes are made, it will be noted in a different color with the date, and I will repost the message to keep everyone informed. If you have any questions about this diceless skirmish game, feel free to pm Red Stick Studio, the store's Malifaux Henchman.
Here are the guidelines so far:
[glow=red,2,300]Rules for the Malifaux League[/glow]
- Must be based off one of the crew boxes (must use entire crew box contents) and may add models into the crew, no more than 26 soulstones.[/u]
(Edit: This has been changed to make it easier for everyone to get started, and may increase during the league.
Rules for hiring crews can be found on page 96.
- Crew will be hired at the beginning of the league, and will be the same list you use throughout, no changing models out.
(Edit: The base crew that comes in your box must stay the same throughout the league. You can change what else you add to make your total soulstone count, however models must be available, and must be painted/based. 05/07/2010)
- Scrap format
- Strategies, follow the chart with one exception, on a joker, flip 2 and respective player (on the chart) chooses between the two.
Changed from the "flip again on a joker" to the current ruling. 10/08/10
- Terrain rules from the book, with one exception. There must be a minimum of 6 pieces of terrain on the table
3 small pieces = 1 regular piece of terrain (3"x3")
2 regular pieces of terrain= 1 large piece of terrain (up to 6"x6")
No terrain pieces permitted that take up more than 1/3 the 3'x3' playing area.
No more than one large terrain element.
Changed the minimum amount of pieces of terrain on the table, from 4 to 6. Also noted table size, and the conversions for the terrain.
- Deployment: as per book
- Varying Game length will be used, to a maximum of 10 turns or 1 1/2 hrs.
- Special terrain features will be used. Please note on the card what it was to assist in determining winner of the game.
- Models need to be painted and based, must be Wyrd Miniature Malifaux models.
- Models must be available in order to use them. What this means, is if the model isn't available, you can't use it yet, no proxying. 06/03/2010[/u][/color]
- Must have Malifaux deck (color doesn’t matter, but it is not permitted to use a standard card deck) and your own copy of the rulebook.
If using both books (as the first one is the main rules, and the second is an expansion), you need to have them in your possession. Using the store copies is not permissible. I am planning on using the strategies/schemes and setups from the new book, and there will be a photocopied version of it available to use. Please return it when you are finished with it so others can use it.
Added 10/08/10
- If your crew requires scrap counters/body part counters, you need to have something to designate these. Unless otherwise noted they are 30mm base size, and follow all rules detailed in the book.
- Please get a copy of the Malifaux errata and FAQ PDF’s from the Wyrd website, as these will be used.
- Special Events will be used. If you flip a Joker, 10, 11, 12 or 13 roll a D12. Follow the chart below to determine the event, and reference page 99 for full rules regarding it. This flip can’t be modified in any way.
Roll Result
1 Alone in the Dark
2 Cruel Winds
3 Dark Omens
4 Disturbing Whispers
5 Earthquake
6 Foggy
7 Heat Wave
8 Heavy Snows
9 Rockfall
10 Stampede
11 Torrential Rains
12 Roll twice on the chart, rerolling any duplicates or consecutive 12’s.
This will start soon. Please keep an eye out.
