BloodBowl League has begun!
!!Update: The deal with league games: You can have 2 league games for every week the league has been going on. After week 1 you can have 2 games, at the end of week 6 you can have 12 league games.
League games are games that count for all things: Money, Star Player Points, Injuries, Team Rating, etc.
Non-league games or exhibition games are games that count for everything except Star Player Points. You still get money and injuries and it can affect your team rating.
I think this will work out so everyone can keep playing games and people can jump in late and catch up to rest of the teams.
Play-offs and Finals! 4 teams will go to the Play-offs! The two teams with the highest Team Rating and the two teams with the best win record (#games won/#games total). To be eligible for best win record you need to have played at minimum 12 games. If a team qualifies twice, I will make a decision on who else gets to go to the play-offs.
I will post pairings on Monday March 15. Play-off games will be scheduled by the teams playing anytime after that Monday. The only requirement to scheduling is I need to know 1 day in advance so I can post it here and on Facebook so anyone who wants to watch can show up. Same with Finals. Games must be finished before March 31.
I originally wanted a day of just BloodBowl for the play-offs but I changed my mind for 2 reasons. 1. BabelCon is the weekend I wanted in Baton Rouge and we'll be hosting some open gaming. 2. I think the flexibility of this suits BloodBowl better. We've got games going on every night of the week and people have different availabilities.

We're going to be using Living Rulebook 5 for this. It is the most current version of the rules. I don't have an ETA on Living Rulebook 6 so we're going with 5 for this one even if 6 comes out before the league. www.bloodbowlonline.com/LivingRulebook5.pdf

- Minis - models can't have weapons unless the player has one on its stat line. - They do not have to be painted. - They do have to be clearly numbered, not with pencil. - Please try to use models appropriate to the Warhammer Fantasy Universe (no robots, power armor or tyranids for example. If you have already sculpted tiny helmets onto you gaunts we can talk. ) - They must be easily distinguished as the type of player they represent. GW minis get a free pass on this even if I can't always tell them apart. Other models must use different poses, paint schemes, accessories (ie ball in the throwers hand) or labels on the bases to set them apart from each other. - From the rules, team rating is calculated only using the players that will be playing in that game, additional coaching staff, re-rolls and fan factor. Players that are sitting out due to injury and money in the treasury do not count. At the beginning of a match, the higher rated coach has the opportunity to use some or all of the money in his treasury to purchase inducements. This money will count toward his total rating for the game. - You may use Star Players. They are inducements so you must pay for them every game. They never earn star player points, gain skills and can never join your team. You must also use the appropriate model and it MUST be fully painted and based. Star Players would never hit the field unless they look their best! The appropriate model is the GW model if it exists and is still available for order from GW. You may not substitute any other model in this case. It is up to you to acquire the model far enough ahead of time to paint it for your game. In the case that a GW model is no longer available for sale, you will still be allowed to use it if you have it, provided it is painted. If the GW is no longer available for sale or never existed, The Commissioner (me this season) will have to approve your model for Star Player. A model is determined no longer available for sale if we cannot order one from GW Direct Sales.

I hope that covers everything. If you use Goblins from the secret weapons pack, they must be painted with a different scheme from your team to designate them as Star Players. This is because you can take them as permanent team members or hire them as mercenaries. This painting rule should probably apply to a couple of other things that I am forgetting right now.
